Robert A. Cameron & Associates offers an innovative online leadership development program through Profiles International's unique Checkpoint 360 Degree Feedback System. The program combines direct feedback by direct reports, peers, and supervisor, with a personalized program for developing specific leadership skills based on that feedback. By learning the perceptions of the people around the leader you can identify and capture both the leader's strengths as well as areas that require development. Employees don't quit companies, they quit managers. That is why it is critical to discover how a manager's perception of themselves compares to the perception their peers, subordinates, and superior have of them. Perception equals fact, but unless it is measured, it can't be changed. The result of not knowing a manager's perceived weaknesses is typically employee turnover, particularly within the ranks of your top performers. Deploying the 360 degree survey is very easy. Leaders and the people who they interact with the most participate in a 20 minute online survey that evaluates 18 critical skill sets. Anonymity is maintained by grouping the participants' answers. A powerful, full color report is created showing areas of alignment as well as gaps in the perception of their skills. This report provides tangible information to help the leader as well as the organization improve. From that point, leaders are able to participate in an individualized Skillbuilder series of programs to build on the area identified through the Checkpoint 360 Degree Feedback System. Leadership skill sets assessed in the Checkpoint 360:????Listens to others????Processes information????Communicates effectively????Instills trust????Provides direction????Delegates responsibly????Adjusts to circumstances????Thinks creatively????Builds personal relationships????Facilitates team success????Works efficiently????Works competently????Takes action????Achieves results????Cultivates individual talents????Motivates successfully????Displays commitment????Seeks improvementThis validated assessment provides a very complete analysis as to where a manager's performance is rated by the people they work with, and by themselves. More effective managers will impact a business in a number of positive ways, most notably employee retention and the bottom line. For more information on this leadership development assessment contact Robert A. Cameron & Associates, Weston FL, a Strategic Business Partner of Profiles International. They work with employers to help them increase the effectiveness of their employee selection and development.
If you look around you, it doesn't take long before you can begin to notice others around you engaging in some kind of self improvement activity. If we want to look younger, we diet. If we want to feel younger, we exercise. To add culture to our lives, we might learn a second language or listen to classical music. These are all worth while self improvement activities we can participate in; however it can be shown that an increase number of Americans are continuing their education after high school. Some are returning to the online classroom after an absence of several years in order to enhance or change their career. There are many people today from all walks of life who are getting an online college degree from home. Dollar for dollar, an online college degree or post graduate work pays off. The quickest way to give yourself a raise is to receive your certification in an area in which you are all ready working. Examples where board certification is pertinent include technical and vocational fields to name a few.Sometimes an online college degree is very necessary in these instances. In some cases you have previously learned the information required of you for these various certifications, but will need the necessary degree in order to advance in your particular field. So, let's discuss possible uses of a college degree via distance education. Many who are presently working in technical and vocational fields enroll in online courses to restructure and enhance their careers, and receive additional certification status.Examples of this occur on an on-going basis. A thirty year old immigrant from South America began working as a nurse's aid, and is presently in her second semester of training from home at an online college.A 50 year old white male enrolled in an online technical college to study electronics when the factory in which he had worked moved to Mexico early last year.During a downsizing exercise at a psychiatric facility in Missouri, an education staff member returned to an online virtual classroom to gain continuing units of education, and add a minor to her present degree. Thus, you can see with the use of those brief examples that continuing education can be useful as well as critical to your intellectual growth base.An online college degree is more important than ever for several reasons.	Employers feel that we are presently in an employer's market. This means that they can be more selective in individuals they hire.	Jobs that glean more pay are more specialized. Specialized jobs require more training/education. This is true because these jobs require the manipulation of facts, figures, and/or technology which is often times sensitive, adaptive, or computerized.	Our current jobs in the U.S. are becoming more and more service oriented. These jobs have relatively low pay and our labeled unskilled work. Thus, one must retool to prepare his or her self to obtain a job requiring more skill and offering more pay.	Finally, we have entered a global economy. Such an economy demands higher prices for homes and automobiles without providing numerous gainful employment opportunities. How do you know if an online college degree is for you? First, if you lack a high school diploma, a college degree is a must. High school non-graduates make 25% less than starting salary employees with a high school education.Secondly, you may presently hold a position that would pay you more if you held a degree from an online technical school or online community college. You may know this information from coworkers or acquaintances in your line of work.Thirdly, if you are considered a non-traditional student. Financial incentives are available to attract such students. So if you could be described as a non-traditional or a minority student, smaller financial payout is a good incentive to continue your education.Check out an online college degree portal and invest in your future. Give yourself a raise..

The popularity of online degrees continues to escalate. However some degree majors are clearly more in demand than others. GetEducated.com, LLC, a consumer-oriented, online degree clearinghouse, has uncovered the following trends among learners seeking graduate degrees online:Top 10 Online Business Degree Majors:1) Business Administration2) Management3) Leadership4) Project Management5) Information Systems Management6) Finance7) Technology Management8) Entrepreneurship9) Human Resources10) International/Global BusinessMost Popular Online Graduate Degree: The Master's of Business Administration (MBA)Not only is the MBA the most popular online degree, it holds this distinction by an impressive margin. The second most popular online graduate degree, the Master's in Management, is only half as popular as the MBA. The third most popular online degree choice, Leadership, is only one-quarter as popular as the MBA."What we see in these trends is a mirror of the trends in the national business environment," comments GetEducated.com's CEO Vicky Phillips, who has been tracking online degrees since 1989. "The Leadership degree, a type of degree virtually unheard of a decade ago, is experiencing a tremendous surge in popularity as corporations look toward the next generation of CEOs to excel in the softer side of business-building. Leadership degrees emphasize communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. These skills transfer across all business specialties, and have come to be as important in the business world today as finance skills were in 1980s when the MBA surged ahead in popularity in American culture."Dropping out of this year's Top 10 List are majors in Internet and Ecommerce (ranked 12th) and majors in traditional core fields such as Marketing (ranked 13th). Technology management remains a solid major, largely, says Phillips, because it appeals to professionals in a number of career niches, including engineering as well as information services. "A strong market exists for individuals who have bachelor's in technology areas, such as computer programming, who can demonstrate broader managerial skills." For this same reason Project Management remains a strong favorite among online learners. The results of this study are based on surveys of online users of GetEducated.com's free downloadable college guidebook, Best Distance Learning Graduate Schools, Business & Management 2004. The survey covers a three month period of February 15-May 15, 2004.GetEducated.com's Best Distance Learning Graduate Schools, Business & Management 2004, is a free downloadable college guidebook to 176 graduate schools (USA) that offer online business degrees, including 120 distance-learning MBAs.
Never before has online education been more esteemed than today. In most circles online learning is haled as a viable alternative to traditional classroom settings. Not long ago, distance learning was perceived as trendy, faddish and nuvo. What's happening to change that? The driving forces behind the online education phenomena are convenience and demand. Two reasons you can obtain an education and "have it your way." How are the terms demand and convenience important to online education? Let's take a look. As we take the opportunity to explore the up-trending in online education you will easily see why these terms are important to it, and why so many Americans are turning to classes offered via the internet to fulfill there educational needs.Demand. Demand here implies that a need is being met. This is important because without the need for online education programs they simply wouldn't exist. Schools are adding online educational opportunities at a rate of 10 to 15 a month. That's quite remarkable considering10 years ago, distance learning via internet was scoffed at. Neither educators nor students are laughing now! Hundreds of students are completing their e-classes online in virtual class rooms each month, they are obtaining an actual degree their own way, and upon doing so, receive their diplomas and transcripts as proof of their hard work.Numerable online programs are awarding their students with earned authentic degrees that they will utilize to gain employment or improve and increase the wage they currently receive from their present employer.Convenience, the second force that makes online education work is no less important. Because colleges online are so convenient, Americans can have education their own way, and students from all walks of life can be reached.Distance learning degrees are available to the stay at home parent, the single parent, the working parent, working class men and women of all ages, and home bound men and women as well.
eLearners.com Inc., creator of the leading website for connecting learners to education, today announced their second quarter results for eLearners IndexTM, which contains valuable marketing research data about online degree programs. The index reflects statistical data on the activities of visitors to the eLearners.com? website, including the site areas they view and the programs that generate the highest number of inquiries from prospective students. The top 10 online degree subjects for Q2 2004 were:1. Business Administration and MBA 2. Psychology 3. Nursing 4. Engineering 5. Liberal Arts / Humanities 6. K12 Education 7. Information Systems and Technology 8. Criminal Justice 9. Early Childhood Education 10. Health Administration Four of the ten spots on the list changed since the first quarter, including Early Childhood Education that moved up two spots to number nine, replacing Business Specialties - Management (now at 11). Overall, Business Administration and specialties such as Marketing, Accounting, and Management comprise the highest area of interest among students pursuing an online education. Within the subject of Business, more students are interested in bachelor's degrees in business than a master's. Also worth noting is that prospective bachelor's in business students prefer studies in specific business specialties, while students pursuing a master's in business prefer a more broad business education. Degrees in health related fields are also very popular; licensed health care workers are looking to obtain bachelor's and master's degrees to advance their careers into administrative positions. Prospective students are also looking into administrative and billing training for medical, dental and veterinary offices. "We began publishing the Index earlier this year to make our valuable web site data available to post-secondary institutions that seek to strengthen their position in the online education market." said C.J. DeSantis, president of eLearners. "We have found that these statistics can serve as a valuable resource for institutions that are looking to expand or enhance their program offerings."Accredited higher education institutions, and qualified entities engaged in market research, can purchase a full copy of the Index or request more information about the eLearners Index online at: www.elearnersindex.com.
You wake up in the morning, head to work, and find out your company is downsizing and you are being laid off. No big deal you think, you have experience, you've worked at the same company for years. You think companies will WANT to hire you. Guess what, your wrong. It's a new day and age, while you may potentially find work. It's a lot more difficult than you may think to get a job these days. Most reputable companies are looking for qualified people who also have an education.Through the companies eyes, they see an education as a sign of dedication to a career/field. Without an education, you are liable to get up and move to a different career in a heart beat as you don't have years of education backing you up. A company knows that when you have an education you are in for the long haul.People with an education are a commodity these days, if you don't have one, many companies won't even go beyond glancing at your resume. So what can you do, to prevent a situation like the one I've outlined above from happening? If you currently have a job, you can start working on attaining some form of education at one of the many accredited online schools. They require much less time as no actual class time is required, but are treated equal to a real world education, and cost significantly less. I highly recommend looking into it. For more information, check out http.
